Host Homes

We deeply value the families that open their homes each week to our staff and this is undoubtedly one of our staff's favorite things about City. Year after year we hear stories of how much they learned from husbands and wives, moms and dads and how much they loved being a part of a family for a week.

Here’s some quotes from a few families about their experience hosting!

“After pouring themselves out all day at camp, our guys showed up at our house and continued serving by playing with our boys and pouring into them as well. We talked and played games together and our 3 boys had the opportunity to see many great examples of what it looks like to follow Jesus!”

“Just so thankful to have gotten to know “our girls” last week. We still miss them. My daughter who is heading off to college this fall is planning to have a prayer wall in her dorm room just like Cora said she had. Our daughters have huge respect for the counselors.”

“We can't say enough about having you all with us. Our kids cried when the girls drove away and they mention the girls on a regular basis. The energy with which you all come home at night is remarkable, and we couldn't have been more happy to have extra people in the house.”

It's our hope to be a blessing to them and that we can equip you and your families with good communication in the months and weeks leading up to camp.

Here's how to use these Host Home Tools:

  1. Here’s a Host Home FAQ's to pass out to those interested in hosting our staff. This can be printed or emailed - whichever is easier for you.Host Home

  2. When you have gauged the interest of those you asked, you will need to confirm the number they are able to accommodate and if they prefer male or female staffers. Host homes must host a minimum of 3 staffers of the same gender. We'll bring air mattresses if a home would like to host more staff than they have beds but our staff are unable to share beds. We do ask for homes to provide a private bathroom for our staff so we are out of your way. We will be operating under minimal indoor contact with host homes as we continue to assess how to operate as safely as possible.

  3. We do not contact Host Homes until you give us a completed Host Home Spreadsheet. This is a sample document. You will receive the one you are to submit from your site director in the spring. Please make sure that all host home information is turned in 3 weeks before your camp session starts so we can effectively communicate with your host homes. Again, your Site Director will share a specific spreadsheet for your week of camp.

4. Three weeks before camp happens, our staff will contact your host homes and email them a PDF schedule (here’s an example!) of the week. Our staff will also call every host family to answer questions and provide more information to your families two weeks out from your week of camp.
