Medical Volunteer Information

Our medical volunteers are a huge value to our ability to be able to run a healthy and safe week of camp! Pine Cove has a full time medical team and has oversight by a Medical Director. Our medical team is responsible for policies, procedures, health information and decisions regarding care for staff and campers. All campers and staff have filled out a health form prior to camp and any issues have already been addressed prior to arrival at camp.

Pine Cove provides a med cart for basic medical care as well as a health assistant on our summer staff who will help the medical volunteer throughout their time volunteering. We will no longer be accepting and dispensing prescription medications to campers at Pine Cove City. If a camper needs medication, parents should administer those either before dropping them off or after picking them up. If a camper has medication they need during the camp day, a parent or a trusted adult may come up to the church and give their camper their needed dose. Exceptions are made for rescue inhalers, diabetic supplies, and epi-pens. Parents will need to mention that their camper will need to carry these things with them on their medical form.

Medical volunteers will need to arrive no later than 9:00am each day and need to stay until 4:00pm. Pine Cove’s nurse manager will provide assistance to City medical volunteers as needed.

We ask for all medical volunteers information to be turned in no later than May 1st so that we can communicate with your volunteers and ensure their background checks are cleared before arriving on property.

Here is a link to our website that will provide more information on health and safety at Pine Cove City. If a camper’s parents have specific questions about health and safety for their prospective camper, they can call 877-474-6326 to speak with our registrars.

Tips for finding medical volunteers:

You may ask one volunteer to come for the mornings and a different volunteer for the afternoons.

  • Medical volunteers may split the week by taking whole days as well.

  • Volunteers may have any of these certifications LVN, RN, NP, PA, Physician, EMT, Paramedic or other licensed first responders. All other types of certifications must be approved by Pine Cove's Director of Nursing. Please talk to your Church Relationship Manager if you have exceptions.

There are two things required from our medical volunteers:

  1. A national background check run through our system. If you have one on file for the same volunteer you may use this, but it must be a national background check.

  2. An up-to-date license. We will verify that the license is up to date if you simply supply us with the license number and what type of certification they possess.

Here is how the process works:

  1. Fill out this form with the names, phone number, email address and licenses numbers and type of certification of each of your medical volunteers.

  2. All medical volunteers will also need to fill out their information through Crimcheck, you can give them this link: https://app.efetch.com/link/citrn

Deadlines:

  • Please ensure that medical volunteer information is turned in by May 1st.

  • You can email all questions regarding background checks to hr@pinecove.com.
